Care Free Medical is a not for profit family health clinic established to ensure access to affordable health care for the residents of our community. We care for people who do not have any health insurance or other resources to provide healthcare benefits. Our clinic is achieving its mission by providing needy families and individuals with primary health care, including: primary family medicine, referral to needed medical specialists, vision care, affordable pharmaceutical services, durable medical equipment, laboratory and x-ray services, nutritional counseling, mental health interventions, health education services.

The Family Services Counseling Program offers a wide range of short-term counseling and therapy services to meet the needs of most families and individuals from ages 4 and older. Our program can bill most major insurance/benefit plans and fees may be based on a sliding fee scale for those clients with limited income. Counseling appointments may be set on Monday and Wednesday from 8:30am-8:00pm, Tuesday and Thursday from 8:30am-7:00pm and Friday from 8:30am-5:00pm.

Children’s Services offers comprehensive services dedicated to the promotion of healthy family relationships. Treatment and psycho-education are provided to families with children from infancy to 18 years of age. Both the substance abuse treatment program and counseling program accept Wellness managed care, Medicaid and use a sliding scale fee based on family income. Services include individual, couple and family counseling, alcohol and drug education classes, Spanish alcohol & drug education classes, parenting classes, 12-Step groups, Native American recovery groups, early recovery groups and a “living Free” program for pregnant women and mothers with dependent children. A psychiatrist is available for medication monitoring.

Ele’s Place

Ele’s Place provide weekly facilitated support groups for grieving children ages 3-18 and their parents, as well as a group for young adults ages 19-25. All participants have experienced the death of someone significant and are placed in age-appropriate groups facilitated by trained volunteers and clinical staff. No fees are charged. A speakers bureau provides presentations to medical and clinical groups, schools and community organizations on a variety of grief topics.

Etch provides specialized supports to individuals at risk of or actively experiencing symptoms of first episode psychosis. Services provided included short term counseling for survivors of sexual assault and for the people who care about them, advocacy (support and information for survivors at the hospital, police station and court), community education and support groups meeting once a week for 12 weeks. All of the program’s services are free and confidential. The Listening Ear is always open, so you can clal or stop in at any time.

The Long Term Residential Treatment program serves male youth ages 10 through 16 that need long-term placement (usually one year). An on-grounds educational program is provided for children unable to attend public school. Individual, group, and family therapy are also available.The Crisis Residential and Respite programs offer stabilization and assessment services to youth in crisis from ages 4 to 17. Individual, group, and family therapy are provided. The focus is on family stabilization so youth may return home. Stays vary from one to ninety days.
